The weather forecast for Saturday 12th October 2019 – the day of our Annual Chloe Coss Memorial Ride – was not good. But you should never underestimate the power of prayer, for the Ride itself was only minimally affected by rain. The forecast undoubtedly had a bearing on the number of riders participating.
Registration was at 9:00am at Panthers in Penrith and we started the ride at 10:00am. As we moved out of Panthers carpark onto Mulgoa Road we felt some light rain, only 10 minutes later the rain stopped, the roads dried up and we had the great pleasure of riding through Wallacia, The Oaks, Picton and on to The Appin Hotel for our pitstop.
The return trip to Penrith was in fine weather … until we approached Penrith where light rain was falling. The prospect of lunch at the Jamison Hotel meant the rain was like water off a duck’s back – it didn’t dampen anything. Everyone enjoyed the lunch and especially enjoyed that camaraderie that only the Riders would truly understand.
All in all it was a great day. I have no doubt the power of prayer limited the rain to only the very first and last few minutes of riding and allowed us to ride the rest of day on dry roads, under dry skies.. Considering the day’s forecast this was amazing.
The DFC would like to thank all the riders who rode with us, especially our Borithers in Christ, The Ambassador CMC whose support we greatly appreciate.

We would also like to offer thanks and prayers to all the generous people who donated to this worthwhile cause – and to those who generoulsy gave their time and effort to help make this event happen.
The Ride itself raised $700 and a further $5,400 was raised through the Memorial Ride For Chloe Coss GoFundMe web page. After paying the GoFundMe fees we are able to donate $5,755 to the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation.
A great outcome for a great foundation. I’m sure little Chloe would be proud.
